Mu Beta Psi, Nu Chapter
After joining Mu Beta Psi, National Honorary Musical Fraternity at Nu Chapter (SUNY Oswego), I served as the Vice President and Public Relations Officer for the 2022-2023 school year. The fraternity social media was typically something that many Brothers previously did not think was too important, so when I took over I revamped many of our socials completely. Even though I will be transitioning out of the position as of May 2023, I’ll continue to mentor and supervise the next public relations officer while simultaneously working on updating the chapter’s website on WordPress!
Artswego
In Spring 2023, I had the pleasure of working with the Arts organization on my campus, Artswego. Unfortunately I had many other things on my plate that semester, so my time with them only lasted about 4 weeks. Artswego taught me many amazing things about the internal workings of an organization, but they also let me play around on social media! All posts from 02/02/2023-03/02/2023 were planned and written by me!
Asian Student Association
As someone with an Asian-American background, being part of a cultural group was really important to me during undergrad, especially since I attend a predominantly white institution. In my senior year, I was elected President of the Asian Student Association at SUNY Oswego, and was solely responsible for transitioning us into a COVID setting where the organization could still run well on campus. From debuting a YouTube channel that year with the help of my executive board and managing a lot of zoom collaborations, we came out successful! Going into graduate school, I continued to help the organization by serving as their Director of Public Relations in the 2021-2022 school year. Many organizations expressed how much they loved our new graphics, which gained us lots of popularity as we transitioned back to in-person programming. A majority of the posts from October 2020 – October 2022 were planned, designed, and written by me!
British Youth Music Theatre
In Summer of 2019, I was studying abroad in London and had a marketing intern placement at the British Youth Music Theatre. This was by far one of my favorite internships I’ve ever had! I would travel to different parts of the United Kingdom to take photos and videos of rehearsals for our upcoming shows, and even get a chance to post about them on social media. One of my favorite highlights however, was getting to write a short article about one of their new musicals, which you can find here. I learned a lot here about traditional marketing, and also about cross platform usage through Hootsuite. Many posts from July 2019 – August 2019 were planned and written by myself, especially the posts that focused on The Dickens Girls, Extinction, and Peter Pan.
